This new Russian Plan Crash Mystery has the movie Thirteen Days written all over it. Seeing how it’s really still early in this discussion and everyone has a different opinion on this so far means that we really don’t have any answers yet. Officials have currently ruled out technical errors and glitches, as well as human/pilot error. So that crosses a few things off the list. There is one other solution though. ISIS has come out claiming responsibility for the plane crashing.
The only problem with that is a British Military analyst, Paul Beaver in an interview with the AP says that ISIS has no means of completing a surface to air attack. In other words there’s no way a terrorist could have done it.
So here’s where we stand now: Russian officials have now come out scolding the owner of the plane who claimed that an ‘external impact’ started this. As of right now this story sounds familiar, I’m talking about the movie Thirteen Days. Long story short a plane flying reconnaissance in Cuban airspace during the Cuban Missile Crisis was shot at leaving holes in the plane. JFK didn’t want to have to declare war so he and the pilot ended up saying “Birds did it” to stop a full on war. Is that the scenario Russia is dealing with right now? Let’s keep our eyes open.
A few questions come to mind:
– How much does Russia want to invest now that they are a part of the mess in Syria?
– If this is actually a terrorist attack, how will Russia respond? We aren’t used to seeing them on what has become the modern military battlefront in the middle east so how far are they willing to go?
– If the flight had no problems and the pilots were OK, what would it take to say that an ‘external impact caused it?
– And if it wasn’t ISIS, then WHO(Like what country) could have done it?
UPDATE(11-3-15): US OFFICIALS HAVE RULED THAT THERE WAS IN FACT AN EXPLOSION. IT DID NOT COME FROM THE OUTSIDE. THEY ARE TRYING TO FIND OUT IF IT WAS A BOMB OR IF THE PLAN HAD A PROBLEM.
Here’s where we got to this point:
